02

How it works

From ledger export to client deliverable

Step 01

Export one client's categorised transactions

Pull the data from Xero or FreeAgent.

Bryce Interiors Ltd · Xeroexport · 12 months ✓

categorised transactions · reconciled feed

INV-2088 · KITCHEN FIT-OUT+£5,400.00

PAYROLL RUN · MONTH-END−£8,400.00

Step 02

The engine reads the cash

Profit is not cash: Pouch reads when money actually lands rather than when it is invoiced, detects the frequency and classification of every recurring inflow and outflow, and resolves a single consolidated free-cash figure.

Profit is not cash

Invoiced · March+£31,400

what the P&L shows · not what landed

Collected · March+£24,600

invoices land 26 days after they're dated · measured

Committed cycles−£22,300

payroll · rent · suppliers · detected cycles

True free cash£2,300 /mo

read from the cash · not the accruals

Step 03

Back comes the forward trajectory

The client's forward daily free-cash position, the direction of travel, and the full historical breakdown beneath it.

FAQ

The questions your team will ask.

My forecast spreadsheet is tailored to each client. Why change it?
Keep the tailoring. Take the JSON into your own model, or use the PDF as the base and build on top. Pouch replaces the mechanical rebuild, not your judgement.
Is my Xero or FreeAgent data compatible?
The honest answer: that is exactly what the pilot establishes, on one of your real clients. Ledger categorisation differs from bank-feed categorisation, so we prove compatibility on your books before anyone commits. That is why it is tested first, not promised.
Does Pouch advise my clients?
No. The output is descriptive: positions, trends and dates, with no ratings and no recommendations. You interpret the numbers and you give the advice; Pouch is the instrument panel, not the throttle.
How much history does a client need?
A few months of categorised transactions produces output, and a longer history materially sharpens the forecast, because longer cycles such as quarterly bills become visible.
